Protection Plan

Furniture Protection Plans

For when life happens to your furniture.

A spilled glass of wine. A pet scratch. A guest who didn't realize the chair wasn't a coaster. Protection plans cover the everyday accidents that fall outside of manufacturer warranties, so you can enjoy your furniture without worrying about it.

What Is a Furniture Protection Plan?

A protection plan is optional coverage you can add to your furniture purchase that covers accidental damage from everyday use. Unlike manufacturer warranties (which cover defects), protection plans cover the kinds of incidents that happen in real homes: stains, rips, tears, burns, breaks, and other accidental damage.

Adding a protection plan is one of the simplest ways to protect your investment, especially on upholstered pieces, leather, dining tables, and high-traffic furniture in homes with kids, pets, or frequent guests.

What's Covered

Our comprehensive 5-Year Protection Plan through Guardian covers the everyday accidents that fall outside of manufacturer warranties — across both indoor and outdoor furniture.

Indoor Furniture

Indoor furniture plans protect fabric, leather, and wood furniture against:

  • Food or beverage stains.
  • Stains caused by grass, crayons, grease, ballpoint pen ink, and cosmetics on upholstered furniture.
  • Rips, tears, burns and punctures on fabric or leather upholstery.
  • Liquid rings, heat marks and gouges on wood and stone.
  • Glass and mirror breakage.

Outdoor Furniture

Outdoor furniture plans cover common outdoor stains and damages, such as:

  • Stains to fabric or vinyl upholstered areas and umbrellas.
  • Breakage of glass components in tables.
  • Rips, tears, punctures or burns to fabric or vinyl.
  • Breakage of umbrella mechanism after the manufacturer's warranty has expired.

How Do I File a Protection Plan Claim?

1. Contact Nordic Spaces First

Even if your protection plan provider has a direct claim line, we recommend calling us first at (907) 273-4333. Our team can review the situation, help you understand whether the issue is covered, and guide you through the documentation needed to file successfully.

2. Document the Damage

Take clear photos of the damage from multiple angles. If possible, document the date the damage occurred and what caused it. Most plans require this information.

3. Submit the Claim

With our help (or directly through the protection plan provider), submit the claim along with photos, your purchase information, and any other required details. We'll help you make sure everything is in order.

4. Resolution

Depending on the damage, the resolution may be a repair, a part replacement, or a full replacement of the affected piece. We'll coordinate any in-home service or replacement delivery once the claim is approved.

Should I Add a Protection Plan?

Protection plans are optional, and not every customer needs one. They're often most valuable for:

  • Upholstered furniture (sofas, sectionals, accent chairs) where stains and tears are most common
  • Leather pieces where accidental damage can be expensive to repair
  • Dining tables that see daily use and frequent spills
  • Outdoor furniture exposed to weather, spills, and umbrella wear
  • Households with young children, pets, or frequent guests
  • High-traffic family rooms and entertaining spaces

If you're not sure whether a plan makes sense for your situation, our team will give you an honest answer. We won't push it on you if it's not the right fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a protection plan cost?

Cost depends on the piece, but the 5-year Guardian plan is generally a small percentage of the purchase price. Our team can quote a specific plan for any item you're considering.

When can I add a protection plan?

Protection plans are added at the time of purchase.

How long do I have to file a claim after damage occurs?

Guardian requires claims to be filed within 30 days of the incident. We always recommend reporting damage as soon as possible to ensure smooth claim processing.

Does the protection plan cover everything?

Coverage varies by plan and provider, but most plans cover accidental damage from everyday use. They don't cover normal wear and tear or intentional damage. Our team will walk through the specific terms before you decide.
